Intelligent Design- Someone should put him in the nursing home by now.

Pat Robertson- the prominent dinosaur conservative- warned the residents in Dover, Pennsylvania after they voted against putting the Intelligent Design to the classroom that if some disasters happen to them in the near future, don’t turn themselves to God because they just turned him down on Tuesday.

This close-to-Alzheimer conservative put both foot in his mouth a couple month before after he told the reporter that the US should assassinate the President of Venezuela.

Question is- If God always has something to do with human’s disasters, how can him explain what happened to the disaster in Florida, Louisiana, all in those Christian lands, and all around the world?

Moreover, intelligence design is not a science. Our life has tremendously changed from Darwin’s theory. I am not saying that his theory is perfectly right but at least it has been tested by numerous genius people and experiments. Also, it is backed up by those ample evidences in the nature.

It does not come from imaginations or blind faiths.

Please stop dragging our civilization back to when we were still living in the caves and believed that the entire natural phenomenon were the acts of God.

Is it the sign for the Republican?

The result of the election in several states yesterday has shown the sign of the Republican deteriorating poll number.

Obviously Bush has lost his magic to energize his base in Virginia to elect Jerry W. Kilgore. The red state that Bush won decisively last year elected the Democrat Governor. Crozine- the Democrat- won the New Jersey as a new Governor.

Isn’t it a sign for the Republican sinking popularity? Definitely.

Do they realize it? Totally.

This is why they are running around like a mad man to try to act tough in front of their base. Today, the Senate summoned the big oil companies’ executives and proposed the windfall profit tax. Since they and we all know that this is a non-starter policy, they politely ask the oil companies to donate 10 percent of their profit to help the low income people to pay for the heat this winter. Why I said it was a non-starter policy? Given the President and the Vice-President of the United States as the former oil executives, and most of the politicians receive money from those companies, there are no ways in the world this policy will sail.

To cope with the harsh criticism from the whole country about their spending, today, the Republican House majority came up with the grand plan to cut their spending. With their dinosaur mindset, they will cut the student loans, the Medicare and the veteran benefits. No one mention about porks and the tax cut for the rich. Again, the rich will always benefit from either in a bad time or a good time.

Nancy Pelosi came up strongly and condemned the irresponsibility of this plan. All Democrat will vote against it.

Obviously, the Republican is deteriorating and people start questioning about their leadership. However, how the Democrat will capitalize this time is crucial. These are the puzzles that the Dem have to solve.

  1. How the Dem distinguish themselves from the Republican in term of their own value, convictions and policy?
  2. What is the most important issue that matter to the American people? How they harmonize the god issue and the real issue?
  3. Why American people should trust the Dem more than the Republican?

Democrats have to assure the American people that they are a better choice than the Republican. People might want to vote for the Democrat but if they do not see the difference between these two parties and believe that the Democrat is not a better choice, they are more than likely to stick with the Republican.

To stick with the already known devil is better than to go with another not-known one.

Warm Month in the City and Global Warming

This is a very unusual November. I have lived in the east coast for almost 6 years; this is the first year that the temperature is still above 60 degree in November.

In October, the weather dipped into mid 40 degree. I thought I would have to bear another brutal winter in New York. However, since the beginning of this month, the weather in the city is so gorgeous. I could not think of any better time than now.

I love holidays and it’s approaching. I am so happy to walk on the street and to see the stores and streets are being decorated with all light bulbs and color. In particular, when the weather is so warm, it even makes my experience more joyful.

On the weekend, one of my friends raised the issue of Global Warming. I said I did believe the Global Warming was real and the increasing level of natural disasters must, in certain degree, have something to do with it. However, at the dinner table, I raised the issue of the natural cycle of the climate that might have contributed to the unusually warm month.

The conversation was getting hot. I was bombarded by the accusation of being an ignorant human being (like Bush) who did not believe in the Global Warming just because I thought the natural climate cycle might have caused the unusual violence of the natural disaster lately.

At the end, I was so tired of defending myself. I concluded that I totally believed the Global Warming was real and it’s likely to increase the violence of the natural disaster but the climate cycle was real as well and I thought both factors combined and created the unusual climate.

A little warm this year should not hurt if it’s just the regular climate cycle. Just give us a little break from the past 2 years of brutal winter.

Instead, they attended so-called medical schools, many of which were condemned in the press and by the government as "substandard."
